Day 2 – Poggiolo- Perugia/Montefalco

We are now in the heart of Umbria; visit Deruta a famous ceramic makers’ place and Torgiano, Lungarotti wineries home town; if a wine tasting might be dangerous for your safety (!) a visit to the wine and olive oil museum is advised. Spend the night in a charming Villa just outside Montefalco, where, once the vespas safely home, you can savour a glass of Sagrantino, the most fasmous of Umbria wines.

Distance: Km 65

Day 3 – Montefalco/Spello/Assisi

Today visit this beautiful town; then ride to Spello a very nice and less touristy small town on the Subasio slopes. Spend some time in Assisi, with its superb St Francis basilica and its Giotto’s frescoes. End the day in Perugia, the capital city of Umbria. A town that goes back to Etruscan times, with monuments more than 2000 years old, an underground medieval town and an intricate net of narrow alleys and cobbled streets.
