This is to thank you for the quality of your organization of our “via Francigena”. Three weeks with practically no bug is totally satisfactory so we highly recommand Viadelsole for such trip in Italy.
For the future we confirm that on the via ,the official site of via Francigena is close to the perfection and there is no need to use additional document except for the preparation of the trek.

We had a great walk, it was well organized, and the navigation app never let us down. Fabulous walking, lovely scenery, great hilltop towns and B&B’s and hotels to stay in. We were well supported with information and transport by Antonello and Daniele, thanks so much.
We had the most amazing cycling trip across the hills of Siena, from Montalcino to Montepulciano, ending in Cortona. Viadelsole has been amazing in organizing great routes with some spectacular landscapes, they helped us with the ebilkes (never used them before!) and extremely responsive and well organized. Thank you, we will definitely use them again!

We’ve been back in NZ for a few months now and have had time to slot back into our usual life.
Life on the via francigena was as good as we hoped, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. So, thank you for the wonderful trip it went off without a hitch, well only that one time our luggage wasn’t picked up. That showed us you had great customer focus and had it sorted within an hour. So well done on that front.
All of the accommodation was good to excellent!

We had a trip of a lifetime during which we felt we really experienced authentic Tuscany and Umbria.
Our accommodation was full of character and welcoming, with many personal touches. We stayed in some beautiful rooms with frescoed ceilings and far-reaching views out over the countryside…
Our guide, Daniele, was a great ambassador with first class local knowledge of the trails, regional cultural history, stunning architecture and delicious Tuscan cuisine. All pick-ups were seamless and nothing was too much trouble.
Great maps were provided with realistic profiles for each walk. Our adventure was tailored to our interests and very well organised from start to finish with a personal touch.
We highly recommend this trip which exceeded expectation. We are now looking forward to booking our next adventure. Thank you for the memories…
We have recently returned from a cycling tour in Umbria.
We found Viadelsole Hiking and Cycling tours through an internet search.
They responded promptly, understood what we wanted, and put together a personalised five day cycling tour in Umbria.
To get to Umbria we had planned to catch a train from Florence. As luck would have it, there was a train strike that day and we were stuck in Florence, exhausted from an overnight flight from South Africa.
We contacted Daniele from Viadelsole, who said if we could get to Perugia he would be able to fetch us, which he did. This was at least 50km out of his way – no charge!
We arrived at our starting hotel to find Beppe preparing our brand new E-bikes. They were perfect and never gave us a moment’s trouble. Daniele had prepared GPS tracks for us, but we didn’t have suitable Apps to install them. Daniele researched various apps, and found one called Komoot. He helped us download and install the app and the daily routes. He then downloaded the routes onto our phone so we weren’t dependent on Wi-Fi. Such a clever app and the routes were easy to follow. We didn’t get lost once!
Worth carrying a small powerbank as the navigation app was fairly power hungry.
Daniele moved our luggage from one base to the next, always on time.
The hotels they had organised for us were perfect, and the routes were beautiful, avoiding busy roads as much as possible. Plus, they had organised two wine tasting events for us.
At the end Daniele collected us on time and took us to our bus stop. Again, this was quite a distance out of his way.
All in all a fantastic experience in a beautiful part of the country. We cycled about 240km in four days.
We would highly recommend Viadelsole.

Lynda and I had a most successful walk on the Via di Francesco and much of it was the result of your competence and professionalism in helping us arrange this trip and on rather short notice. We would recommend all the lodgings which were very nice and easy to find. The walking directions were spot on and easier to follow than the guide book. We appreciated the quick responses to the few phone calls we made, either resolving an issue like baggage delivery or arranging a ride with our luggage to the next town.
While we were walking, we met two other couples at the lodging in Ponticelli whose trips were also organized by Viadelsole, and they had the same high praises for your company that we did. We told everyone we met about you should they ever consider this type of adventure. So a very big thank you to you, Cristina, Beppe, and the rest of the staff for the outstanding coordination and effort and for making our trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So many good memories. No bad ones!

Buongiorno! The trip is going beautifully, thanks to the good planning by Viadelsole. The lodgings have all been very comfortable. The hikes have been mostly hard so we really appreciate them.
The trip was excellent! We enjoyed doing the loop rides which gave us 2 nights at each hotel. It was nice to stay in the peaceful countryside for 6 of the 8 nights. Great route from Michele….distance and climbs were just right. Quiet, scenic roads. Thanks to Beppe for making sure the hotels (all were wonderful) gave us special attention: a) the hotel in Volterra had one room with a balcony…. and we got it! It was a nice to stay in the town for a change (and have a choice of some good restaurants). b) Bandita resort had a nice balcony for us.
The Poggi ai Santi Resort was very nice but I can honestly say that the main restaurant was too “fancy/nice” for us. There was a second restaurant on the hotel property which we found more casual and the food simpler, yet more authentic. This was a great lunch stop along the beach in San Vincenzo! We had lots of Chianti. ciao till next time
Sophia and I had one of the best weeks of our life and words cannot express how grateful we are to you, Michele and Cristina for putting this together for us. The bikes were perfect (I’m so glad you steered us towards the ebikes), the routes were more scenic and beautiful than we ever imagined, and we loved each and every one of the hotels. I know we will be writing to you soon to plan another trip and I will tell every single person I know to not even look anywhere else when planning a bike trip. We travel all over the world and have had so many wonderful adventures and this exceeded my wildest expectations.
First — and most importantly, we had an absolutely wonderful vacation. We posted our photos on Facebook and our friends/relatives have already been asking us about it. I would recommend your services/company in a heartbeat.
I was extremely impressed/grateful for Beppe’s help and assistance. He was very responsive, professional, and efficient. We had several small hiccups — all our fault/responsibility — e.g. my teen daughter left her bathing suit in the bathroom of one hotel, and one day, she hurt her ankle, and she and my husband rode with the luggage. All of this was made easy by Beppe — and the drivers helped us each time. I was super-impressed and grateful. Grazie!
We also enjoyed the hotels, the luggage was always there — and we had lovely walks (despite the heat).
Overall, we had a terrific time – the amount of hiking was perfect — we left around 8am each day, and got to our hotels by 1-ish — my father and teens were both able to do all the distances, and the hotels and logistics worked perfectly, and Beppe was wonderfully helpful and responsive

We had an absolutely wonderful time and really loved our holiday in Umbria and Tuscany – it was very memorable (for all the right reasons!). The bikes were both excellent, the route planning was fantastic with just the right number of hours of cycling per day and with every point of interest clearly highlighted in our notes. Beppe and Michele gave us a wonderful welcome in Assisi and our bags always found their way to our next hotel without any issues at all. We’ve been raving about the trip since we got back to anyone who will listen!
