Self-guided tour

Day 1: Arrival in Poggibonsi

arrival at Poggibonsi train station, meeting with our representative, Vespa fitting at the rental place Gippo Byke and short ride to your first Villa.

Distance 50 km

Day 2: Villa San Lucchese - San Gimignano - Villa San Lucchese

warm up with a loop ride from your Villa to San Gimignano, one of the most famous medieval towns in Tuscany with her high towers and walls. Continue your vespa ride along stunning roads to Volterra and back to your Villa.

Day 3: Poggibonsi - Monteriggioni - Siena - Buonconvento

The route to Siena is twisting and full of ups and downs, but not traffic ridden and very scenic. You will enjoy the ride! Pass Monteriggioni, a nice hamlet very well preserved, Siena is at the end of it; what better stop for a day than an ice cream savored while sitting on “Piazza del Campo! Continue your ride to Buonconvento along the ancient Cassia roman way. Your Agriturismo Pieve a Salti will welcome you with a stunning view over Montalcino, quiet place with 2 swimming pools and an organic restaurant.

Day 4: Pieve a Salti - Montalcino - Sant'Antimo abbey - Pienza - Montepulciano

An amazing day in the hearth of Valdorcia (UNESCO Heritage site): you’ll enjoy the road to Montalcino trough the Brunello vineyards and discover the Sant'Antimo abbey, a Romanic church built from Carlo Magno emperor. A curving and not busy road will take you to Bagno Vignoni, an ancient roman thermal spa, and after to Pienza to admire the renaissance town built from Pope Pio II. Pienza is full of nice shops where you can taste truffles, excellent olive oil and pecorino cheese. The ending day in Montepulciano at Villa Cicolina with her swimming pool is unique!

Day 5: Montepulciano loop or relaxing day at the Villa

Villa Cicolina is a perfect place to relax, reading a book and enjoying a nice glass of red wine, but, if you’re a fanatic driver, the road to Montefollonico and back to Montepulciano is amazing and along the route you can visit some cellars where is produced the Nobile Montepulciano, one of the best red wines of Tuscany. In the afternoon, cooking class at the Villa with the kitchen’s team, have fun!

Day 6: Montepulciano - Siena

A long day riding your Vespa trough the Crete Senesi, one of the most impressive landscapes in Tuscany. Nice spots are Trequanda and Asciano, where you can taste genuine recipes cooked with the truffles of Asciano. The arrival in Siena and her high tower of Piazza del Campo is “simply the best”. "Piazza del Campo" isn’t allowed by Vespa but from your hotel you can get there walking.

Day 7: Siena - Poggibonsi, the Chiantishire

Welcome to the Chianti shire, one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany, with her hills, vineyards, luxurious castles and much more…you will ride the Chiantigiana road from Siena, visiting famous villages like Radda, Panzano and Castellina in Chianti. A short stop in Volpaia castle is the chance to taste the Chianti “Black Rooster” very famous all over the world. Ride until your first Villa in Poggibonsi.
