Day 1: Arrival in Florence
Easy to reach and great to visit. Take a tour of town, meet your guide and have a bike fitting. Free supper and overnight Hotel Fortezza.

Day 2: Firenze - Greve in Chianti
Get a transfer to Firenze Ponte a Ema, your starting point and cycle to Greve in Chianti via Impruneta, a leisurely ride through the first Chianti vineyards, leading to one of the famous town of the area. Your hotel is on the main square, a peaceful spot unless it is market day, in which case it is crowded, but fun.

Day 3: Greve in Chianti - Castellina in Chianti
You are now in the very heart of “Chiantishire” cycling from one to the next small town. These little towns ( Greve / Panzano / Volpaia / Badia Coltibuono / Radda / Castellina) have a common history as they were all part of the Chianti League in the Middle Ages and are now associated in the Gallo Nero consortium which produces the “Chianti Classico” wine.

Day 4: Castellina in Chianti - San Gimignano
(Lilliano / Lecchi / Staggia / Colle Valdelsa / Bibbiano). A day that starts with a breathtaking descent, then take a small detour to visit Monteriggioni, the small village enclosed inside perfectly round walls; the day continues through windings roads that climb first to Colle di Val d’Elsa, then to San Gimignano, called the Manhattan of the Middle-ages, because of its many towers, the highest of which is 54m high.

Day 5: San Gimignano - Siena
(Quartaia / Abbadia Isola / Monteriggioni / Badesse ). Meander through soft hills covered with olive trees and vineyards to reach Siena, one of the most famous town of Italy. Its main square, ”Piazza del Campo” is famous throughout the world because the “Palio”, during which different parts of town compete on horse back. Remember to savor an ice-cream while sitting at one of the many cafés that surround the square, admiring the “Torre del Mangia” and the crowd of tourists strolling by.

Day 6: Siena - Panzano in Chianti
(San Sano / Radda / Pieve / Panzano). Because this tour is a loop today we start on our way back to Florence, Chianti hills are tough, but by now you should have got used to them and the ups and downs of the road will seem light. In Panzano, pay a visit to the famous Cecchini butcher shop, if only to meet the character.

Day 7: Panzano - Florence
(with final transfer to avoid city traffic) – We are back where we started with some time for the last shopping occasions in the many boutiques of this beautiful town.
