Tour Plan

01

Day 1: Arrival in Terracina

Arrival at the hotel, dinner and night.

02

Distance 25 km

Day 2: Terracina - Fondi

Leaving Terracina, you take a beautiful panoramic path that winds for 6 km along the slopes of the hills, offering glimpses of the sea and Lake Fondi. In the first section you walk on the paving of the Appia Antica, while in the second part you climb up narrow rocky mule tracks. The path then continues on the plain passing through Monte San Biagio and the ancient monastery of San Magno, where a stop is really recommended before reaching Fondi.

03

Distance 15 km

Day 3: Fondi - Itri

A short and pleasant stage that takes place among the green reliefs of the Aurunci mountains. Halfway along the route, the Sant'Andrea gorge holds, within a spectacular landscape setting, a treasure of rare beauty: the Appia Antica and its paving stones; This is one of the most exciting sections of the Camino. From here, a slow and progressive climb up country roads leads to the path in the woods which, downhill, reaches the gates of Itri.

04

Distance 21 km

Day 4: Itri - Formia

After two internal stages we find the sea again, with the only drawback of the asphalt: the rolling hills of the Aurunci now accompany us towards the beauties of the Riviera di Ulisse regional park. The route begins uphill, then a long local road, with no traffic at all, gradually descends to Gaeta, with its mythical origins: following the seafront, you finally reach another legendary city, Formia.

05

Distance 19,8 km

Day 5: Formia - Minturno

The last stage in the Lazio region takes place on asphalt and almost entirely close to the beaches: from the Formia seafront the route continues on that of Minturno, with only two very short detours inland, to go around Mount Scauri and Mount D 'Silver. In the last 2 km we follow the course of the Garigliano river which marks the border with Campania and leads to the archaeological area of Minturno.

06

Distance 24,2 km

Day 6: Minturno - Sessa Aurunca

From today the route crosses Campania: ten sections immersed in the enchanting setting of the Apennines which will surprise us with its mountain ranges and green valleys, which hold cities and villages full of charm. Today's stage takes place on the plain of the Garigliano river, among small hamlets and expanses of fields, orchards and oak groves; slightly uphill, you cross the forest of Monte Ofelio and arrive at Sessa Aurunca.

07

Distance 15,4 km

Day 7: Sessa Aurunca - Teano

The exit from Sessa Aurunca is one of the most evocative of the entire route: from the historic center a dirt road goes down and then up the green valley crossed by a stream which can be crossed thanks to the ancient stone bridge. Then the route winds along the slopes of the extinct volcano of Roccamonfina, crossing tiny hamlets and woods. The arrival is also exciting: you reach Teano, cradle of the unification of Italy, along the paving of the Via Adriana. The only discordant note is the high percentage of asphalt that will accompany us up to Benevento.
